Lately, I have seen many advertisements for companies offering to lower property tax bills for homeowners. What many San Diego County home owners do not realize is that you can do it yourself and save the fee. Just go online, enter http:\\arcc.co.san-diego.ca.us, and click on Application for Review of Assessment to obtain the free one-page form. You will need 4 comparable values to support your opinion of the value of your house, but these are easily obtained through websites such as: Redfin.com, Realtor.com, Trulia.com, or Zillow.com. In North County, you may also find forms and assistance completing it at 141 E. Carmel St., San Marcos.
